Washing machine not spinning? We fix it at your home

Soaking wet clothes at the end of a wash usually mean a worn belt, a drain fault or a motor problem. We fix most of these in one visit. We are a repair service. We come to your laundry and fix it.

Same day often available · 12 month warranty on our work · Price agreed before we start

What we usually find

These are the faults we find most often when a machine will not spin.

The water has not drained

A machine will not spin while there is water in the drum. A blocked pump or hose is often the real cause. We clear or replace the pump.

Worn or broken drive belt

Many machines turn the drum with a belt. When it stretches or snaps, the motor runs but the drum does not. We replace it.

Motor or motor control fault

Worn motor brushes, a failed motor or a faulty control board. We test each and replace only what has failed.

Door lock or lid switch

For safety the machine will not spin unless it knows the door or lid is locked. A worn lock or switch stops the spin. We replace it.

Load out of balance

A single heavy item like a bath mat can stop the spin. If it happens with every load, the suspension may be worn.

What happens when we come out

  1. You call or text

Tell us the brand, front or top loader, and what the machine is doing. We book a time that suits you.

  2. We find the fault

The technician tests the machine in your laundry and tells you what is wrong in plain words.

  3. You approve the price

You get the full price before we start. If it is not worth fixing, we tell you.

  4. We fix it

Most repairs are done on the spot with parts from the van. Our work has a 12 month warranty.

Before you call

  • Try a spin only cycle with a normal, mixed load.
  • Make sure the door or lid is shut firmly.

Anything past these checks is a job for us. Please do not open the back or top of the machine, and never work on it while it is plugged in. Water and power do not mix, and a heavy drum can shift without warning.

Questions about this repair

Can I keep using the machine?

You can run it, but wet clothes will need wringing and drying. It is best to have it checked before the fault gets worse.

Is it the motor?

Sometimes, but more often it is a belt, a drain fault or the door lock, which are cheaper fixes.

Do you fix top loaders too?

Yes. Top loaders often have a worn clutch or lid switch when they will not spin. We fix both.
